Polynomials

Polynomials
Polynomial function: A polynomial function is a function whose terms each contain a constant multiplied by a power of a variable.
    P(x) = a0xn + a1xn-1 + .................+ an-2x2 + an-1x + an is a polynomial function
where a0, a1, a2,..., an are all real numbers and n is a non-negative integer.
    Polynomial in one variable: a0xn + a1xn-1 + .................+ an-2x2 + an-1x + an is a polynomial in one variable.

In other words

which are the following expression polynomial  of one variable and which are not,

1. x4-2x

2.xy4-5x2z

3.

1 is a polynomial of one variable
2 it have three variable x y and z.
3 it have only one variable x so it is also one variable polynomial.
now we can define as --> Polynomial comes from poly- (meaning "many") and -nomial (in this case meaning "term") ... so it says "many terms....

A polynomial can have constant , variable and exponent....

A polynomial cannot break its in its pole until its not equal to zero.
